Support Letter from Tom Lehman, Sports Advisory Board Member, Offers High Praise
for Kids Sports Stars |
|
Amazingly, unlike when we were in school, many kids have phys ed only once or twice
a week and many don’t have it at all. Getting the “el jefe’s” to change something
like this takes hard facts and well-chronicled results. The projects underway (at
Kids Sports Stars) to this point already point to the well-documented facts that
kids who are more active and healthy and fit do better in school academically and
do better in life socially. To ignore this in the schools is a huge mistake, in
my opinion. Therefore, I support this group because they are doing something about
it.” |

SUCCESSFUL FIRST YEAR FOR AZIMUTH SUMMER ACHIEVERS PROGRAM AT FLORENCE CRITTENTON |
|
quote from Linda Volhein, Executive Director, Florence Crittenton, Florence Crittenton
Transitions, Summer 2004 |
|
"This summer began with an exciting kick-off celebration to introduce the Azimuth
Summer Achievers Program, generously funded by the Azimuth Foundation. This program
provides the girls the opportunity to swim, exercise and play sports each day at
local parks and the YMCA, enriching both their physical and emotional health. These
activities allow them to release their aggressions in a healthy manner, learn about
teamwork, and condition their bodies against illness and becoming overweight."
